Community Outreach

Community Outreach

St. Mary’s students and their families are called to answer the Gospel message. As disciples of Christ, our students participate in catechetical experiences outside the classroom by making a difference in their community.

Community service is required for our students, especially in the upper grades. Teachers assign projects which allow our students to help others at the local, national and global level. Community service projects include; visiting the sick, feeding the homeless, environmental cleanup, and collecting goods for those in need.

Serving Others

Even the youngest St. Mary’s students show compassion and empathy toward the burdens of others and learn about their community and its needs. Many of our projects align with feast days and liturgical celebrations including annual canned food drives around Holiday celebrations and gift/toy drives for needy children at Christmas.

As a strong Catholic community we try to help those who find themselves in need such as raising money through Mission drives for victims of poverty and natural disasters. Families often perform service hours at St. Mary’s place, a local food pantry for those in need.

Community service projects include visiting the sick, feeding the homeless, cleaning beaches, and collecting goods for the needy.
